About this experience

Casa Vicens is where Gaudí started. Gaudí took the commission in 1878, aged 26, for the stockbroker Manuel Vicens i Montaner. The plans were signed on 15 January 1883 and the summer house went up from 1883 to 1885, when Gràcia was still a separate town. It became a museum only on 16 November 2017, after a restoration from 2015 to 2017, and it has been part of the UNESCO listing of Gaudí's works since 2005. It is quieter than the houses on Passeig de Gràcia: 263,743 people visited in 2025.

This ticket gives you skip-the-line entry on the day and at the time you choose, then the whole house at your own pace. The audio guide runs on your phone in 16 languages, so bring headphones. Inside you see the dining room with its plant motifs and Gaudí-designed furniture framing paintings by Francesc Torrescassana, the smoking room with its plaster palm-tree ceiling hung with dates, the bedrooms upstairs with painted birds and climbing plants, the attic exhibition and the rooftop, the first roof Gaudí made walkable. The listing also includes the permanent and temporary exhibitions and a discount in the gift shop, and Casa Vicens says ramps and lifts make the house easy to get around.

Casa Vicens puts a visit at about 60 to 75 minutes. Add time for the garden café, which only ticket holders can use. The listing has 4.7 stars from 5,872 reviews, and guests praise the audio guide; one notes there was no queue and as much time in the rooms as you want. Free cancellation up to 24 hours before means you can lock in a time now.

Tips before you book

  • Bring headphones: one guest stresses it, and the listing puts them under what to bring.
  • Arrive on time. Your ticket is for the date and time listed, and there is no re-entry once you are inside.
  • Check the calendar. Casa Vicens opens every day, Mondays included: 9:00 to 20:00 from March to October and 9:00 to 18:00 from November to February. Last entry is 1 hour 15 minutes before closing, so 18:45 in summer and 16:45 in winter. The house closes on 25 December and from 7 to 14 January 2027, and on a few announced days: it is closed all day on 16 November 2026 and closes early on 26 November 2026.
  • Pair it with Park Güell. From Park Güell, walk down to Lesseps (L3), which the park's own site puts about 20 minutes away on foot. Casa Vicens is about 300 m from Lesseps, so allow roughly 20 to 25 minutes, mostly downhill. Our Park Güell and Casa Vicens guide plans the half day.
  • Look up at the facade before you go in. The green and white checkerboard tiles and the yellow "Moorish carnations" are really marigolds, the flowers Gaudí found growing on the site.
